New Beginnings: How Does God Feel About Unbelievers?

Christians are typecast by contemporary media as legalistic, self-righteous haters who despise people whose lifestyle is different from theirs.  God, by association is seen as some spiteful authority figure to be feared. Or He or She may be a divine pushover who will look the other way and allow the worst things to happen to people. How does God feel about those of us in the middle? How does God feel about unbelievers, those who don’t truly know Him?
