Pastor Tim Leung and Family
Pastor Tim Leung, his wife, Lillian, and their two children, currently live in Elk Grove, California. They are excited to begin this new adventure of pastoring the First Chinese Baptist Church in Sacramento. God has been preparing their family for such a time as this! Both Tim and Lillian have a special burden on their hearts to minister to those who are sometimes overlooked by mainstream Christianity, especially those who are close to the immigrant experience in North America. Being the children of immigrants themselves, they empathize with those people who are caught in between two worlds but feel like they belong to none. They hope to bring the life-changing hope of Jesus Christ to all people, but especially to those who may not feel completely at home in mainstream America. They dream of a church that will give people like them, a sense of identity, mission, and purpose.
Tim is passionate about connecting people to God, encouraging them to surrender their lives to Christ, and then having them reach out to take their worlds for Christ. He received a BA in Music from CSU Sacramento and a Master of Divinity from Multnomah Biblical Seminary (Portland, OR). Tim has been in professional ministry for about 25 years. He has had experience as a church planter, worship leader, worship pastor, youth minister, associate pastor, conference speaker, private music instructor, and vocal coach.
Lillian loves to work alongside her husband. She received a BA in Psychology from UC Berkeley and an MA in Education (emphasis in Child Development) from CSU Sacramento. She has had over 10 years of experience in the Special Education field, working as a Behaviorist with children with developmental disabilities. She also has had experience directing children’s ministry programs in church. She enjoys meeting new families and finds it an honor to be a part of their spiritual journey.
